International Arbitration Lawyer David Reed Joins Arnold & Porter’s London Office

Arnold & Porter (UK) LLP announces that David Reed has joined the firm as a partner in the London office. David is an international arbitration lawyer with substantial experience in arbitration matters, including cases involving construction, oil and gas, engineering, technology, pharmaceuticals, telecoms and investment disputes. David was previously a partner and head of the London international arbitration practice at Shearman & Sterling LLP.

“David Reed is a highly respected international arbitration lawyer, and he brings with him considerable experience, handling over 50 commercial arbitration disputes”, said Arnold & Porter Chair Tom Milch. “David’s practice complements our reputation as a leading firm for investor state disputes.”

“We are extremely pleased that David has joined our London office, where we have been taking important steps to expand our arbitration capabilities. David’s presence will nicely dovetail with that of partner Dmitri Evseev, who moved from Washington, D.C. to London in 2010. David’s practice will provide our group with additional depth in commercial arbitration, among other areas of focus,” said Washington, D.C.-based partner, Paolo Di Rosa, head of the Firm’s International Arbitration Group.

David Reed’s practice is geographically centred on Europe, the Middle East and Africa and includes disputes under a variety of rules, such as ICSID, ICC, LCIA and UNCITRAL. He has been recognized as a notable lawyer by numerous publications, including Chambers and Partners, Legal 500, Legal Experts and PLC Which Lawyer.

“We are delighted that David has joined our international arbitration practice as we expand our dispute resolution offering in London and other international centres,” said Tim Frazer, Responsible Partner for the London office.

“The international arbitration group at Arnold & Porter already enjoys a deserved, stellar reputation particularly for investor-state disputes worldwide, as well as for arbitrations in Latin America. The firm is committed to expanding the international arbitration practice in London and I am pleased to be joining the firm at this exciting time,” stated David Reed.
